About Us

Gateshead Redheugh 1957 is an FA Charter Standard Community Club based in Teams, Gateshead. We have 20 teams, serving around 300 children and young people on a weekly basis. The club is affiliated through Durham FA, but we are a charity run organisation who relies on the volunteer workforce to keep the club alive.

Established in 1957, the club was formerly based on Rose Street, Teams before moving to Eslington Park under a new purpose built facility in December 2011, which comprises of 6 Changing Rooms, 2 Referee Changing Rooms, Café area, meeting room and office. The club is now a sports hub and we are continually working towards making it the heart of the community.

The club’s philosophy here at Gateshead Redheugh 1957’s is for children to develop and learn social and life skills in a football environment. We aim for the children to have the best experience possible whilst at the club taking part in sport in a fun, enjoyable and safe environment. The emphasis should not be on short term success but long term individual development.

We do our upmost to adhere to the philosophy of the club and we all hope that individuals who come to the club enjoy their time in more than solely a football aspect.
